In 1998, Corey Douglas was incarcerated and facing the death penalty and life without parole. In that darkest hour, he experienced a literal visitation from God the Father in a solitary confinement cell. Encountering the overwhelming love of God, he surrendered fully to the will of the Lord and to the Cross of Jesus Christ.
Under what he understood to be divine instruction, he pled guilty and accepted a life sentence. What appeared to be the end became the beginning of divine purpose.
In 2002, Corey Douglas was taken into an out-of-body encounter and stood before the throne of Jesus Christ. There, he was confirmed in his sonship. Following this encounter, the Lord entrusted him with a book of revelation concerning the Gospel—its message intended not for himself alone, but for the people of the earth.
Between 2002 and 2006, Corey underwent an intense season of prophetic formation and spiritual development under the direct leadership of the Holy Spirit. During this time, the Lord refined his character, clarified his purpose, strengthened his gifts, and firmly established his apostolic and prophetic calling.
While praying in prison with a seer, Corey received the revelation of Sion Ministries. Through visions given by the Lord, the name, logo, and foundational scripture were revealed. The identity and blueprint of the ministry were established long before its public launch.
While still incarcerated, Corey Douglas pioneered and established four apostolic and prophetic church expressions inside Alabama prison institutions. These communities were marked by biblical teaching, prophetic activation, discipleship, and leadership development.
In 2014, God miraculously delivered Corey Douglas from prison.
That same year, he joined Kingdom Connection Ministries in Huntsville, Alabama, serving faithfully under Bishop Dexter Elston and Pastor Shela Elston for five years. During this time, he received two ordinations:
Ordination as an Elder
Ordination as a Minister of the Gospel
In 2016, he also came under the covering of the Church of the Firstborn Covenant Family of Ministries in Cottondale, Alabama, under Apostle Daryl Jackson and Pastor Beverly Jackson
During this season, Corey released a public teaching series titled Hearing the Voice of God. What began as a social media invitation became an accessible class designed to help believers grow in spiritual discernment and prophetic clarity.
This marked a significant expansion of teaching ministry beyond physical walls through digital platforms.
In 2018, Corey Douglas was formally ordained as a Prophet under the Church of the Firstborn by Apostle Daryl Jackson and Pastor Beverly Jackson, as part of the Apostolic Covenant Family of Ministries overseen by Apostle Daryl Jackson.
This ordination recognized the proven prophetic grace upon his life and affirmed his role within the broader apostolic network.
Under divine timing and with the blessing and support of Bishop Dexter and Pastor Shela Elston, Corey Douglas and his wife, Latasha Douglas, transitioned to establish Sion Ministries in Harvest, Alabama.
Sion Ministries was officially established on October 31, 2018—a date of deep personal and prophetic significance. October 31 is also Apostle Corey’s birthday.
Through prayer and divine revelation, Corey came to understand that his life carried a distinct calling: to stand with spiritual authority against works of darkness and to lead people into the liberating truth of Jesus Christ. Sion Ministries was birthed as a house prepared for spiritual warfare—anchored not in fear, but in the finished work and triumph of the Cross.
Launching the ministry on this day was intentional under God’s direction. What is often associated with darkness would now mark the beginning of a ministry committed to raising a militant and triumphant people in Christ—equipped to prevail and to bring many into salvation and freedom.
The New Destiny Class was taught live before a room of engaged learners while simultaneously streamed to those joining from afar, creating one unified learning community across locations.
Marked by prophetic insight and revelatory depth, the teaching revealed the identity and calling of Sion as a militant and triumphant people in Christ—rooted in the Cross, strengthened in truth, and awakened to their divine inheritance. It was not simply instruction; it was the shaping of a people who understood who they were and what they were called to become.
In 2019, after a season of observation and proven fruit, Corey Douglas was ordained as an Apostle by Apostle Daryl Jackson, the Church of the Firstborn, and the leaders of the Apostolic Covenant Family of Ministries.
This ordination formally recognized the apostolic grace upon his life and his role in pioneering, establishing, and overseeing ministry expressions.
A year-long leadership development initiative was launched to equip future leaders of Sion Ministries. Training was facilitated by Apostle Daryl Jackson, Bishop Dexter Elston, and Apostle Corey Douglas
Classroom-style Christian education expanded both onsite and via Zoom, allowing regional and national participation simultaneously.
After prayerful deliberation, the Board of Directors formally incorporated Sunday Encounter as the official weekly worship gathering. The emphasis was not religious routine, but cultivating an atmosphere where individuals could personally encounter God.
Graduates from across the United States traveled to Huntsville, Alabama, for a three-day fellowship and graduation weekend held at The Vision Center. Participants completed the Prophetic Equipping Class and Leadership Development Class.
This marked the first national convergence of Sion Ministries students.
After years of prayer, development, and observable biblical fruit, Sion Ministries conducted its first official ordination service. Five-fold ministers, elders, and established leaders were formally ordained.
After years of walking closely with people in discipleship and seeing both victories and struggles, Apostle Corey carried a burden in his heart. He went before the Lord and asked what must be firmly rooted in a believer so they would stand strong and not fall away.
In response, God gave him twelve foundational pillars—truths meant to anchor hearts in Christ and establish unshakable faith. These became the framework of the New Members Class, created not just to teach information, but to lay a foundation that helps believers remain faithful, grounded, and secure in Him.
In fulfillment of the 2006 revelation, Supernatural Kids was formally established to develop children in Christlike character, activate their gifts, and equip them to walk in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit.
